Staff We have a dedicated staff at Temple Sinai, consisting of the following people:

 

Heidi Smith Hyde is Educational Director at Temple Sinai. Born in Brookline, Heidi studied English and American Literature at Brandeis University, and later received her masters in Higher Education Administration at Harvard Graduate School of Education. In 2001, she earned a certificate in Jewish Family Education at Hebrew College. For five years, Heidi served as Assistant to the Dean of Freshmen at Northeastern University. For eleven years, she taught Judaic studies at Temple Emeth in Brookline. Prior to becoming Temple Sinai's Director of Education, she served as our Jewish Life Educator, a position she occupied for four years. Heidi is married and has two teenage sons. Her first children's book will be released by Kar-Ben Publishers in 2007.

 

Amy Salinger is Temple Sinai’s Jewish Life Educator. Amy graduated from Simmons College with a B.A. in Elementary Education and from Wheelock College with an M.S. in Early Childhood Special Education. In addition to teaching Hebrew School, JCC Family Programs, and Shabbat Youth Services at Temple Israel of Natick, she has taught third grade at Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Boston, where she also chaired the Hesed Committee and school recitals programs. Amy has led Tu B'Shevat Seders for seniors and families, provided training for parents in leading Shabbat Services for young children, and has been active in Hadassah.

 

Rosalie Toubes is Temple Sinai's Cantor.  She was invested at Hebrew Union College in 2003.  Her education includes a Masters in Vocal Performance from Washington University in St. Louis, and Bachelors and Masters degrees in Psychology.  From 2003 - 2006, Cantor Toubes served Temple Beth Shalom in Peabody.  Her mastery of a diverse range of Jewish liturgical music and her warm and accessible style are evident both on the bimah and in her work with children and adults.  Cantor Toubes and her partner Melissa Marquis live on the North Shore with their two small children.

 

Susan McSweeney is our youth advisor. Susan, a psychotherapist, has a Masters Degree in counseling psychology, and has been working in private practice for over twenty years.  For eight years, she was a first grade religious school teacher, and for the past four years she has served as a youth group advisor for a congregation on the south shore.

 

Linda Katz joined the staff of Temple Sinai in 2002. As Administrator, she is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Temple. She is available to answer questions of members and prospective members, and can be reached at the temple office on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.


Harriette Feuerman and Linda Sherman share the position of Temple Secretary. They provide support for the Rabbi, the Board and Temple members.

 

Mario Calderon has served Temple Sinai as Custodian for more than 20 years.
