Passover Music Festival The Passover Music Festival has been an integral part of Temple Sinai's music program for almost 60 years. Every year, the festival has featured an exciting program focusing on one of the many forms of Jewish music. With offerings ranging from klezmer to liturgical compositions to selections from Broadway shows, the Passover Music Festival, under the flawless stewardship of Jane Wanger, always provided a wonderful evening for music lovers.

This year is no different. Musicians from the renowned Cantata Singers of Brookline will present “I Never Saw Another Butterfly:  Songs of Terezin Concentration Camp” on Friday, April 25, as part of our Friday evening service.

In a day and age when persecution and genocide are still happening in the world around us, “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” recalls and honors those who created music and art under the most tragic of circumstances.  Amidst unspeakable horrors, tremendously creative work flourished at Terezin.  This program features songs written by composers including Ilse Weber, Viktor Ullmann, Gideon Klein and Pavel Haas, as well as children’s poetry from the camp in a vocal setting by contemporary composer Joel Hardyk.

The Passover Music Festival relies on contributions from our members, and we need your help.  In addition to joining us on April 25, we are asking for your financial support.  Please click on the link at the bottom of the page to download the form to support this beautiful and meaningful program.
