Acclaimed author Anita Diamant gives “Beryl D. Cohon Memorial Lecture” at Temple Sinai, Brookline on November 14, 7:30 pm:
Acclaimed author Anita Diamant will give this year’s annual Beryl D. Cohon Memorial Lecture at Temple Sinai in Brookline, speaking at Erev Shabbat services on Friday, November 14, at 7:30 p.m. There is no charge for admittance, all are welcome.
Diamant’s first work of fiction, The Red Tent, was published in 1997 and was awarded 2001’s Booksense Book of the Year. She is the author of two other novels, Good Harbor, and The Last Days of Dogtown, as well as a collection of essays and six nonfiction guides to contemporary Jewish life, including How to Raise a Jewish Child, The New Jewish Wedding Book, and Choosing a Jewish Life. Anita Diamant is also a founder and the president of Mayyim Hayyim, Living Waters Community Mikveh and the Paula J. Brody Family Education Center, an active member of the Boston Jewish community, and a committed Reform Jew.
