Donation Opportunities Board Fund: Used by the Board for life cycle events of Board members.

 

Building Fund: For capital improvements and major repairs to the building.

 

Rabbi Beryl D. Cohon Memorial Fund: Annually sponsors a lecture on an aspect of Jewish life on the American scene by a person of eminence, in memory of the founding rabbi of Temple Sinai.

 

Caring Committee Fund: Supports the activities of the Caring Committee.

 

Education Fund: Support school programs and functions.

 

Educator Fund: Supplements the school principal’s salary.

 

Free Will: Annual campaign raising funds to support the daily activities of the Temple.

 

Aryeh Friedman Fund: Supports the work of the Caring Committee.

 

Interfaith Program Fund: To support an interfaith program or series of programs.

 

Kahn/Lemlein Fund: For innovative educational programming for children or adults.

 

Rabbi Jacob & Esther Kallen Leaders Fund: Provides scholarships for Temple Sinai students in grades 9 and 10 who have not been active in youth group activities, but who show promise as future leaders in the Reform youth movement.

 

Rabbi Jacob & Esther Kallen Memorial Fund: Provides a gift subscription to the Jewish Publication Society for a member of the Temple Sinai Confirmation class who best exemplifies the ideals of scholarship, leadership, service and menschleikeit .

 

Larkin Library Fund: Provides support for books and/or a librarian for the temple library.

 

Leadership Development Fund:  Helps to offset the costs of attendance at Leadership Development events (e.g. URJ biennial meetings).

 

Memorial Fund: Is used to place memorial plaques and to publish the annual Book of Remembrance on Yom Kippur. Call the Temple Office for more information about obtaining a plaque.

 

Music Fund: Supports the music program at Temple Sinai, including the Passover Music Festival.

 

Prayer Book Fund: Is used to purchase Shabbat prayer books and Torah commentaries. A dedication plaque is placed in each book acknowledging the gift.

 

Rabbi’s G’milut Chassdim Fund: Permits the Rabbi to give charity, scholarships and to support aspects of the temple program not covered by the usual budget.

 

Rainbow Fund:   Supports the work of the Rainbow Committee in ensuring a warm and welcoming environment for gays, lesbians, the transgendered and bisexuals within our temple community.

 

Bornstein Shoher Fund: Provides Jewish summer camp and Israel experience scholarships for deserving people in the congregation.

 

Mollie & Aaron Sibley Fund: Provides a scholarship for a deserving Temple Sinai high school student to study and/or tour in Israel.

 

Social Service Fund: Supports the activities of the social service/social action committee.

 

Amelia & Julian Solinger Library Fund: For the purchase of books for the library, rabbi and sanctuary.

 

Temple (General) Fund: Supports the daily activities of the temple.

 

Thurer Scholar-in-Residence Fund: Supports the scholar-in-residence program.

 

Rabbi Waldorf School Fund: Supports an annual school event or series of events in honor of Rabbi Frank Waldorf.

 

Harry Wheeler Memorial Fund: Provides funds toward the flowers and oneg on the night of the presentation of the Harry Wheeler Distinguished Service Award.

 

Youth Fund: Finances special youth group activities.

 

Louis Zonderman Memorial Fund: Supports intergenerational programs for school children of junior high and high school age.
