Today is September 21st, 2017 -
Due to overwhelming success of our monthly “Shabbat@Six!” service, Temple Sinai is adding another 6:00 p.m. service each month in the Sanctuary, staring this coming October 2016.
At its April 2016 meeting, the Music, Prayer & Ritual Committee agreed to experiment with a second 6:00pm Friday night service each month, on the 4th Friday of each month, in place of our 7:30 pm service. We resolved that beginning in October 2016, our Friday night Shabbat service schedule will be as follows:
The MPR Committee believes that celebrating Shabbat is an integral part of Jewish life, and that this new schedule allows an opportunity for members of the congregation of all ages, including those with children, to enjoy the sense of Shabbat community at an early 6:00 pm service with enough time to have a leisurely Shabbat evening once the service is over around 7:00 pm. For those who enjoy the later service at 7:30pm and the community Oneg Shabbat following the service, which allows us to schmooze and be together as a community over dessert, we are pleased that such services will continue to occur at half (or more) of our Shabbat evenings each month. This new schedule will be in effect beginning in October 2016.
We invite you to share your feedback with the MPR Committee. Please contact MPR chair Robin Orwant, at email@example.com. Thank you!
